About this group
The Work & Skills Group brings together housing providers and partners to improve employment, skills and training opportunities for Manchester residents. The group focuses on collaboration, intelligence sharing and coordinated delivery to maximise impact and reduce duplication across programmes and services.
The group supports pathways into employment, apprenticeships and emerging sectors including low-carbon and green skills. It also works to ensure opportunities are accessible to residents facing barriers to employment, including economically inactive and hard-to-reach groups.
The group aims to:
- Strengthen employment and skills opportunities across Manchester.
- Promote collaboration between housing providers and skills partners.
- Support apprenticeships, training and workforce development.
- Develop opportunities linked to low-carbon and green industries.
- Improve access to employment for disadvantaged residents.
- Share intelligence, evidence and best practice across partners.
